Legal Cashier

Key Responsibilites
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a similar role and be up-to-date with the latest SAR. Previous experience in Legal Aid would be an advantage.
The Legal Cashier will report directly to the financial controller who is developing a support team to assist the growth of this innovative legal practice.
The candidate should understand and embrace the concept of “excellent customer service” and be willing to offer interim solutions to both internal clients and other business partners alike. You should be able to work to agreed timelines on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and embrace the concept of team working on a day-to-day basis.
Daily processing of all payments, receipts and transfers and carrying out day end balancing procedures.
Ensuring regulatory compliance with SRA rules
Ensuring that all relevant paperwork is in place and that SRA rules are not breached
Preparing CHAPS, BACS, Faster Payments and Next Day Faster Payments.
Assisting staff with accounts queries
Raise bills, payments and transfers
Compiling reports for creditors and senior management
Assisting in credit control.
Assist in preparing the monthly forecasting
Authorising/Paying expenses
Liaising with the Bank
Assist and check fee earners’ billing are correct
Assist with monthly management accounts
About You
Must be able to hit the ground running as this is a fast paced environment with constant challenges throughout the working day.
Team and social skills are instrumental for the position as constant communication is required at all levels with internal staff and external.
Experience of using legal accounts software
Legal Sector Experience
Strong technical ability
Excellent IT skills
Excellent knowledge of Excel is a prerequisite
